14 favourites from 2014

L10105582014 was quite good at making me fall in love with new things. The year was actually quite good, however I’m hoping 2015 will be even better. Obviously, there were some down parts which I’m happy to leave behind but there are 14 things that I will definitely be carrying into the new year with me, because I love them that much.

2014 helped me discover quite a lot about myself. Granted, a few not so good thing had to happen in order to figure them out but thats life. There’s meaning to the bad things that happen, and now I’m glad they did because I feel like a much better person for them happening.

2014 even took me to Ireland, which was by far my favourite part of the year. I’ve always had such a soft spot for Ireland since I was so young, and it lived up to my expectations and more. I’m hoping 2015 will take me there too, maybe even for a little longer.

2014 introduced me to some new books, new TV shows, and new music. I’ve been playing so many CD’s in my bedroom instead of relying on my ipod and I love it. I even gained a fancy new camera, which I cannot live without. I’m expecting there to be a blog post on it in the very near future.

2014 gave me a brand new bedroom. I used to have red wallpaper with dark accessories, and a very small bookcase. Now my bedroom is a pale blue with white accessories, and a pretty huge bookcase. 2014 also got me even more obsessed with candles. I own way more than I should, and I light 8 candles in the evenings, I can’t help it.

2014 had very worthy reality show winners. I’m a celebrity, X Factor, Britians Got Talent: None of these left me disappointed. 2014 also had quite successful movies come out in cinemas, and as a result become my favourites. Especially one in particular. Father Christmas even brought me a couple of things that instantly made it into my 2014 favourites.

What was your favourite things from 2014? And what will you carry through to the new year with you?

Blogging love

heartSince coming back from holiday I feel my posts have been a bit rubbish. I’ve been redecorating my room and so haven’t had anywhere to take photos, and if i’m telling the truth haven’t been very motivated to take photos with my room being so mismatched and with so many other things to do, as well as making up with the dogs for going on holiday without them for two whole weeks, how dare I. From now on, I promise my usual content. I’m hoping to post a few hauls, book reviews, and some other lifestyle-y bits.

To make up for my absense recently, make sure you do look at my previous posts – theres a heck of a lot! And also, check out some of my favourite blogs too. The main purpose of this post was to spread a bit of love in the blogging community because there are so many amazing bloggers out there that I just want to share with you all. So here goes:

1. Hannah – Hannah has a lifestyle blog over at, it is a blog that has a little piece of everything and told through a voice that you just can’t stop reading. I speak to Hannah quite a bit anyway on WhatsApp and she’s such a lovely person, we can have the most serious and ridiculous conversations ever to the point where i’m laughing at a screen yet I’ve never actually met the person behind it. You can read Hannah’s most recent post HERE

2. Carly – Carly’s blog is just amazing, I find myself looking through her work frequently and asking myself why my efforts on “paint” turn out the complete opposite of hers. Carly actually designed my beautiful new header and was so lovely to work with, she made sure everything I wanted was incorporated into her work – including my little dogs! If you need any designs making, or if you just want to nosy around like I do then you can see her work HERE

3. Megan – Megan blogs at and every time I see that name I always think of the bruce almighty B E A UTIFUL, anyone else? No, just me then. Megan has recently started a youtube channel, and I think thats just such a brave thing to do. I’m too conscious when it comes to photographs or hearing my own voice on camera so could never do it, although I’d love too. I think its so good that shes doing exactly what she wants to do and not letting anything get in the way. You can head over to her blog by following the link HERE

4. Amy – This blog is just amazing. Amy writes an anxiety, mental health & lifestyle blog – I feel there is a real niche for this type of writing and want to just thank Amy so much for filling that gap. Her blog gives lots of advice, inspiration, and solutions to people who are suffering from any mental health issue. I have anxiety and feel like her blog has helped me, and I think its so important for people who do want any advice to take a look on her blog, and I’m pretty sure you’ll find some comfort there.

5. Georgia – Georgia shares an interest in books. I love books, and could talk about them for hours so finding a fellow blogger who shares the same interest is just so lovely. I love seeing what other people read, and which books they love, etc. AND not only that but Georgia blogs about other things too and is by no means a book blog entirely, with other posts on fashion and beauty too, you can’t go wrong. You can check out her blog HERE.

White and blue wish list

on June 20, 2014

I’m so happy that this year we seem to be having a proper summer! It means we can wear dresses, light colours, and sandals. It also means that I can actually go for walks without having to stick my wellies on. I love pastel colours, especially this pale blue and these are my favourite pieces from my favourite shops. They are so pretty and would make such a lovely summer-y outfit.

I have been loving Newlook at the minute, they have some beautiful things in and I just want everything in there. I’ve been lusting over these gorgeous blue sandals for so long and for £14.99 they are a total bargain, definitely my favourite item from the collage!

Dress – Forever 21 – £17.50 | Daisy Statement Necklace – Newlook – £7.99 | White Backpack – Newlook – £19.99 | Blue heels – Newlook – £14.99 | Lace Cuff Bracelet – ASOS – £6

Affordable Wishlist
Primark Necklace – £8 | Matalan Dress – £10 | Newlook Sunglasses – £7.99 | Boohoo Earrings – £6 | Newlook Boyfriend Coat – £28 SALE (I actually bought this jacket last week) | ASOS ballet shoes – £40

I often struggle with those little boxes on websites that ask me to list my hobbies/interests. I don’t go to any clubs or participate in sport etc so I’m the awkward person who after hours of thinking just resorts to writing ‘hanging out with friends’. Today though, after reading a chapter in Zoe Griffin’s book, I challenged myself to write down a list of five things I’m interested in and things that are important to me.

Four of them were rather obvious and didn’t require much thinking , but one of them was quite a surprise – Fashion. I don’t consider myself a massive fashion staple or anything like that but I am obsessed with buying new things. However, unlike the tonnes of bloggers out there who buy expensive clothes and look like they are modelling every day, I realised I love affordable fashion. I can’t justify spending £100 on a t-shirt, or £50 on a pair of patterned leggings. I’d rather buy myself a nice new handbag or get myself like 10 different things for the same amount of money. I’m a primark type of gal! I’m the type of person who goes on an expensive website and heads straight to the ‘sale’ part. I do love a good bargain.

Basically, the whole point of this post was to tell you that I’m going to try something new. It may not be an instant change to my blog as the weather here is shockingly bad but in the summer I want to incorporate a few AFFORDABLE fashion related blog posts. I love some good quotes, books, and the occassional beauty product but I haven’t really mentioned much fashion on my blog properly and its something I’d like to change.

So here is my first proper fashion post, and its my affordable fashion products from affordable shops. To all you bargain hunters out there, make sure you follow my blog in the sidebar and on bloglovin, instagram, twitter and I hope its a topic everyone else reading would be interested in. Leave me a comment if you’re feeling extra nice today and tell me what you think!
